About Brahma
Brahma has four faces, one for each Veda he chants without pause, and four arms holding a water pot, a rosary, a sacrificial ladle, and the Vedas themselves. He sits on a lotus that rose from Vishnu's navel, with a swan as his mount. His own Stotram opens at the end of a cosmic age, when the dark universe lit itself by its own light — that light is Hiranyagarbha, the golden womb, and Brahma's true form. His consorts are Saraswati, Savitri, and Gayatri. Cursed to receive almost no worship, he has one major shrine: the Pushkar temple in Rajasthan, where devotees gather each Kartik Purnima.
