Amalaki Ekadashi
The one Ekadashi when devotees worship a tree. Falling on Phalguna Shukla 11 between Maha Shivaratri and Holi, Amalaki Ekadashi honours the amla (Indian gooseberry) tree, believed to be the dwelling of Vishnu. A water pot is placed beneath it and an all-night vigil kept.

About
The story comes from the Brahmanda Purana: sage Vashishtha tells King Mandhata how a hunter who killed birds for a living once stumbled upon King Chitraratha of Vaidisha keeping an Amalaki Ekadashi vigil. Hiding nearby through hunger, the hunter unwittingly stayed awake all night before the amla tree. That accidental merit was enough — he was reborn as Prince Vasuratha. The ritual flows from this lore. Devotees install a kalasha (water pot) at the foot of an amla tree and address the tree as Dhatri, the form said to have sprung from Brahma. Lord Parashurama is invoked to sit beneath it. The fruit itself is held to have fallen from Vishnu's mouth, which is why amla — not flowers or grains — is the day's offering. The merit promised equals gifting a thousand cows.
